5 Secrets to Great Digestion

 

 

Want help getting your digestion straightened out but don't know where to start? Consider adding these 5 secrets into your daily routine. 

1. Eat Like You Mean it!

This means stop scrolling through social media, apps, watching tv and anything that distracts you from food going into your mouth. Look at your food, chew your food well and enjoy the taste of your food. It's rare that I meet slow eaters, it's time for you to become one! Be the llama of the pack. 

2. Become a Morning Drinker 

Mimosa's are a great way to start the day if you want to make your digestion a train wreck. Before eating the first meal of the day, drink a 16 ounce glass of warm water. You get bonus points if you add a few lemon slices or lemon juice to it. 

3. Plan Time Into Your Schedule to Poop

Yes, I said poop. We rush around all day and by simply giving our body a predictable time of day that we can sit down for 10 minutes, relax and relieve ourselves will help prevent getting backed up and agonizing in pain. 

4. Exercise 

Walking for 10 minutes after eating can help with moving old waste to the exit hole and help improve your metabolism. There are tons more benefits with this one that I won't drone on about.

5. Buzz Like a Bumble Bee Before Eating

We have this sweet nerve called the vagus nerve. The simple act of buzzing or humming applies a small amount of pressure to it allowing us to be in our 'rest and digest' nervous system. Why is that important? This means you get more nutrients from the food you eat because your brain told your body it's time to break it down.
